The armed forces of Ukraine, thanks to the military assistance of the allies, will be able to “demilitarize” Serpent’s Island and deprive the Russians of the opportunity to cover military aviation and the Black Sea Fleet.

This was stated by Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Viktor Andrusiv, writes “Reviewer”.

“The one who controls the Zmeiny, in many respects controls the Black Sea. Because it is possible to deliver missile and bomb strikes from it. Our weapons have a short range. If we control the Zmeiny, we will be able to strike at the enemy,” – so he commented on the importance of the island from a military point of view.

According to Andrusiv, when the enemy has their own air defense radars on Zmein, they can launch air strikes and cover their Black Sea Fleet.

At the same time, he doubted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be able to establish control over Zmein. However, it is possible to make sure that the Russians do not have this control either, the adviser to the minister added.

“First of all, thanks to the weapons that are beginning to be provided to us. We will make Serpentine demilitarized,” he stressed.

A new blow to the Snake: what is known

Recently, the Ukrainian military hit enemy units on Snake Island in the Black Sea. The shells hit the Pantsir S1 anti-aircraft missile system, a radar station and vehicles.
