Also in 2018, Sergey Karakaev, commander of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces, said that the Sarmat would enter the military unit in 2021. True, in 2013 he called the term from 2018.

In general, the development of this rocket has been going on for at least 13 years, and during this time it has carried out only one practical launch. It took 32 launches from 2005 to 2018 to understand for the adoption of the R-30 Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missile. And in the USSR, a silo-based R-36 similar to the Sarmat was launched 50 times in three years before being put into service.

That is, in fact, the Russian Federation is only at the very beginning of long-term tests, which, of course, may not prevent the formal adoption of an absolutely “raw” ballistic missile for the sake of yet another rattle.

New physical principles from Putin

Putin in his speech, like Lenin, bequeathed that it is necessary “to use robotics, the latest means of control and reconnaissance, unmanned aerial vehicles more widely, much more widely, to actively develop weapons systems based on new physical principles,” including “laser, electromagnetic and other weapons. “.

In this area, progress is no less than with the Sarmat missile, because in 2019 he said that work on such weapons was already being discussed.

“We will discuss work on laser weapon systems using domestic optics and highly sensitive optoelectronics, including weapons that until recently were only found in science fiction stories,” Putin said at a meeting on the development of the Russian Aerospace Forces three years ago.

It probably means the same combat laser, assembled from sewer and chimney pipes, which was shown in the Russian Federation in 2018.

But any modern weapon, and even more so robotics and drones, works thanks to microelectronics. And the situation with it for the Russian Federation became catastrophic, because the only “military” processor “Elbrus”, despite all its “Russianness”, was produced at the Taiwanese factory TSMC.

In May, their production ceased, and although at first in the Russian Federation they dismissed, they say, we will do it in China, but later, without any pathos, they announced that Elbrus would be produced near Moscow, that is, Beijing refused.

But the fact is that in Taiwan, processors with a topology of 28 nm were produced, and in the Russian Federation they can only be in 90 nm. To understand the 90 nm lag, this is the level of the early 2000s.

Therefore, for sure, in the Russian Federation for the development of combat robotics there will be no other options but to start hunting for vacuum cleaner jobs, where processors based on 28 nm technology are installed.
