“Those who know what life is like under the occupation understand why we did not immediately publish this information. Because no one could guarantee Maxim’s safety in Kherson,” Spivakovsky said.

As UNIAN reported, on June 14 in Kherson Russian military abducted Vice-Rector of Kherson State University Maxim Vinnik.

The local online publication “Most” reported that this happened near the hostel of the university, after the capture of the main building of the university. According to eyewitnesses, Tatyana Tomilina, who led the capture of KSU, gave the command to seize Vinnik to armed people. Maxim was taken away in an unknown direction.

The website of the university reported that on June 14, armed Russian soldiers, escorting the so-called representatives of the “authorities” of the temporarily occupied Kherson region, entered the main building of the university.

“The military took away in an unknown direction Maxim Vinnik, who organized and supported the life of Kherson State University all these terrible days of the occupation, was engaged in scientific and pedagogical work, being at the workplace around the clock,” the message of the educational institution said.
