US says HIMARS were not used in Yelenovka attack – Politico – Ukraine news, Politics

American-made HIMARS rocket launchers were not used in the attack on the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka. This is reported Politico referring to an American official who wished to remain anonymous.

“We know that Ukraine did not attack the building with HIMARS because the building does not have the signs that it would have if it had been hit with HIMARS,” one of the officials said.

While one official refrained from saying that Ukraine was not responsible for the attack, another official said there was evidence to suggest that the attack was not carried out by Kyiv. Satellite Photo objects, published by Maxar Technologies on July 30, show damage to only the part of the pre-trial detention center that housed Ukrainian prisoners, with no collateral damage to surrounding buildings.
