Ukrainian intelligence urges citizens not to provide unauthorized persons with information about prisoners Ukrainian defenders.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the social network Facebook.

“The Coordinating Headquarters calls on relatives and friends of the defenders who were taken prisoner not to provide information about the prisoners and their own personal data to unauthorized organizations and individuals, as well as anonymous sources,” the message says.

As noted in intelligence, after the Russian terrorist attack in Yelenovka, which resulted in the death of Ukrainian captured soldiers, certain individuals began to collect information about relatives and Ukrainian defenders. They call for this information to be provided allegedly on behalf of international organizations, in particular the International Committee of the Red Cross, but they do not have the appropriate authority to do so.

“The Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War warns: information or personal data provided to third parties or organizations can harm Ukrainian defenders in captivity. Also, information about a prisoner or a person who has gone missing may pose a danger to his fellows,” the intelligence service said. .

“Do not respond to anonymous and unconfirmed calls to submit personal information about you and the persons captured, which are distributed in instant messengers and social networks. Do not tell unknown persons about the location of military units or about the last location of the military. All information about the prisoner and all the necessary assistance for the search for missing persons can only be provided to authorized organizations and institutions,” the ministry added.

As noted in intelligence, Ukraine is doing everything possible to release Ukrainian defenders and defenders from captivity, search for persons missing under special circumstances.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine still has not received official responses from Russia regarding the lists of the dead and wounded as a result of the terrorist attack in Yelenovka in the occupied Donetsk region, and there are no grounds to trust the lists published by Russians on the Internet.
