U.S. hits companies helping Iran bypass oil blockade with sanctions – Ukrainian news, World

US Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control contributed The list of sanctioned companies includes four companies that helped Iran’s largest petrochemical broker, the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Commercial Co. – to sell Iranian oil “for tens of millions of dollars” to East Asia.

PGPICC is a subsidiary of Iranian petrochemical conglomerate Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Co., which accounts for half of Iran’s total petrochemical exports.

The list included:

→ Blue Cactus Heavy Equipment and Machinery Spare Parts Trading LLC (UAE);
→ Farwell Canyon HK Limited (Hong Kong);
→ Shekufei International Trading Co., Limited (Hong Kong);
→ PZNFR Trading Limited (Hong Kong/Malaysia).

As deputy head of the agency for combating terrorism and financial intelligence, Brian Nelson, said, the US “continues to follow the path of diplomacy in order to achieve a mutual return to full implementation” of the deal on the Iranian nuclear program.

“Until Iran is ready to return to full compliance with its obligations, we will continue to apply sanctions against the illegal sale of Iranian oil and petrochemicals,” he stressed.

In a separate but related action, the US State Department also identified two entities that were involved in the purchase, acquisition, sale, transportation, or marketing of Iranian oil and petroleum products, including providing logistical support to the Iranian oil trade:

→ Pioneer Ship Management PTE. Ltd. (Singapore);
→Golden Warrior Shipping Co. Limited (Hong Kong).

As noted in Facebook Ambassador of Ukraine in Washington Oksana Markarovathese sanctions do not apply to the occupying country of Russia, “but are a good example of what to expect for those companies and banks that help sanctioned Russians circumvent / avoid sanctions.”
