Finnish paint and varnish manufacturer Tikkurila is winding down business in Russia.

This is stated in press release companies on the official website.

It is noted that now Tikkurila operates only on the “minimum volumes” of sales that are necessary to pay Russian employees.

“Through our inability to operate consistently even at this minimum level, PPG (owner of Tikkurila) has made the decision to activate options to exit Russia, including a possible sale or controlled exit from the Russian market,” the statement said.

Tikkurila plans to donate all profits made in 2022 to non-profit organizations that provide direct humanitarian support.

The company also announced that it had stopped cooperating with Russian enterprises in the oil and gas and aerospace industries, as well as with government agencies and organizations that fell under sanctions.
