“The world must be sure of safety”: Yermak called on the IAEA to inspect the Zaporozhye NPP

Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are to inspect the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar, which has been is under the control of Russian madmen. Such a statement in Twitter made by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak.

“Employees of the occupied Zaporozhye NPP in extremely difficult conditions under constant pressure from the occupiers ensure its operation. The world must be confident in the safety of ZNPP operation. IAEA experts should visit the station as soon as possible, as required by international nuclear safety rules,” – wrote Andriy Yermak.

In his other tweet Yermak also noted that the Russian military, whom he called “madmen”, should remove military equipment and ammunition from the territory of the ZNPP.

At the same time, Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko in an interview with an American publication Politico rejected the possibility of sending IAEA representatives to inspect the ZNPP while it is under Russian control. According to the Ukrainian minister, Kyiv must return full control over the power plant. This will increase electricity production and increase exports to the EU.

Manate Director General Rafael Grossi said that the captured Russian troops Zaporizhzhya NPP in the occupied Energodar completely out of control of the IAEA.
