On August 2, the commission of the Seimas Latvia on foreign affairs will consider the issue of recognizing Russia as a terrorist state.

This was announced by the head of the parliamentary commission for foreign affairs Rihards Kols for Delphi.

“Russia’s immoral war against Ukraine is particularly brutal and barbaric, with Russia indiscriminately torturing, maiming and killing both military personnel and civilians,” Koles said.

Former Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics called on the EU to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, because the behavior of the rashists is similar to ISIS.

“We see all the cruelty of the Russian forces, which actually in many ways resemble ISIS, which we have always called a terrorist organization. Let’s call a spade a spade,” the diplomat said.

Recently the US Senate unanimously supported the resolution which calls on Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to declare Russia a state sponsor of terrorism for its crimes in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and Ukraine.
