The number of Russians supporting the special operation fell to 38%, reports FOM (Public Opinion Foundation). On March 25, this figure was 62%and on May 6 – 51%.
The new poll was conducted on June 10-12 in 104 settlements in 53 regions of Russia. 1.5 thousand people were interviewed. Among the events that are associated with the special operation, people called the trial of foreign fighters, the state of the Kherson region and the battle for Severodonetsk.
Only 2% of the respondents said that they are concerned about the increase in the minimum wage, child allowances and pensions. 1% each went to such events as the rejection of the Bologna education system, statements by Deputy Security Council head Dmitry Medvedev, the incident with the plane of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, new sanctions, the arrest of the former deputy head of Rosprirodnadzor Oleg Mitvol, the opening of former McDonald’s restaurants and even the trial of actor Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Among the supporters of the special operation carried out by Russian troops in Ukraine, civil servants and law enforcement officers prevail, and among the opponents – workers in the fields of science and culture, representatives of the media and advertising firms. Such conclusions were made on May 18 RBC according to the results of a sociological study by Russian Field.
This survey was already the sixth in a row conducted since the beginning of the special operation. It was held on May 2-5 by telephone and covered 1,609 respondents from all regions of the country.
