The enemy uses the civilian population as a human shield in the Kherson region – Vasilyevskaya UTC

With this method, the invaders want to slow down the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive on the territory Kherson region. Because of this, the flow of refugees has greatly increased, but the occupiers do not let the civilian population through. They want to use civilians as human shields.

Such information in a conversation with “Radio Liberty” Sergey Kaliman, head of the Vasilievskaya OTG, shared his opinion.

“Our troops went on the offensive in the direction of Kherson, so a very large flow of refugees went from the Kherson region. The Russian troops, realizing this, do not let our people through in that amount,” Kaliman said.

According to the head of the UTC, the invaders deliberately detain civilians. From the side of Energodar, a queue of 2.5 thousand cars formed. Ukrainians are forced to wait for the opportunity to evacuate for 5-6 days.

“People play the role of a certain human shield so that our troops cannot advance,” Kaliman added.

Recall that at the end of July, the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov toldhow the Russian invaders are trying to complicate the exit from the temporarily occupied territories through Vasilievka. From August 1, the rashists were supposed to introduce new rules. They provide for the need to apply to the so-called “commandant’s office” for a special pass.
