The director of the Yeltsin Center explained why employees of the E Center came to the fund

The director of the Yeltsin Center, Alexander Drozdov, in an interview with RTVI, denied the information about the searches at the institution in Yekaterinburg. Earlier about the visit of the staff of the Center “E” to the “Yeltsin Center” reported Interfax and RIA Novosti, citing sources. “Kommersant” wrotethat they had come to talk with one of the leaders of Memorial (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia and liquidated) Anatoly Svechnikov.

Drozdov told RTVI that employees of the Center “E” came to the activist Aleksey Mosin, who was detained the day before.

“Who Svechnikov is, I don’t know. I am now in Moscow, not Yekaterinburg. Yesterday Aleksey Mosin (the head of the regional branch (“Memorial”) was detained at the moment when he was at our regular international, I emphasize, the 14th conference on the history of Stalinism. It has been held for 14 years, and today employees of the “E” center, who were not invited by us, came They didn’t come to us, – said the director of the Yeltsin Center.

According to him, it is not known whether Mosin wanted to make a message or simply attended the event. Drozdov said that no searches were carried out in the center, and the employees of the Center “E” simply entered the hall and asked Mosin to leave, after which they had a conversation with him. About what is unknown, the director of the institution added.
