The court arrested the property of blogger Veronika Belotserkovsky in Moscow and St. Petersburg

The Basmanny Court of Moscow seized the property of blogger and businesswoman Veronika Belotserkovsky, who is accused of publicly disseminating deliberately false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces (207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). How reported TASS June 24 in the press service of the instance, we are talking about a parking space and an apartment in the capital, as well as residential buildings, an apartment and a land plot in St. Petersburg.

As specified in the court, the relevant petition of the investigation was thus satisfied.

The case against Belotserkovskaya was initiated by the investigative committee in mid-March after she published several records on the social network, where, according to investigators, “under the guise of reliable reports, they contained deliberately false information about the use of the Russian Armed Forces to destroy cities and the civilian population of Ukraine, in including children, in the course of a special military operation on the territory of the said state.” Now the blogger is charged with two episodes of public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Russian Armed Forces for reasons of political hatred or enmity (clause “d” part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). She faces a fine of 3 million rubles and up to ten years in prison.

In mid-May, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced Belotserkovskaya put on the international wanted list, and on May 25 the court accepted decision on her arrest in absentia. Veronika Belotserkovskaya is abroad.

Case against Alexander Nevzorov*

In early June, the Basmanny Court of Moscow also arrested the dacha of journalist Alexander Nevzorov*, who was previously arrested in absentia in a criminal case on the spread of “fake news” about the Russian army. By data telegram channel Mash, the site owned by Nevzorov * is located on the shores of the Gulf of Finland, it houses a mansion, outbuildings and stables. Experts interviewed by Mash estimated all this property at 7.8 million rubles.

The journalist, commenting on the court’s decision, noted in his telegram channel that “from the expensive” in the arrested dacha were “only a very old stallion, surviving in peace, my dog ​​and books.” “My losses are very painful for me. But I knew what I was going for and was ready for anything, ”he said.

Criminal case for “dissemination of inaccurate materials about the Russian army” Investigative Committee started on Nevzorov* March 22. According to the agency, on March 9, on his social networks and on March 19, on his YouTube channel, the journalist published “deliberately false information” about the shelling of a maternity hospital in Mariupol by the Russian Armed Forces. At the time of the initiation of the criminal case, Nevzorov* was in Israel.

At the end of April, the Ministry of Justice entered Nevzorov* into the register of media-foreign agents, and at the beginning of May, he announced on the criminal wanted list in the case of “fakes” against the Russian army. In June, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree granting Ukrainian citizenship to Oleksandr Nevzorov* and his wife Lydia “for outstanding service to our country”. The Ukrainian authorities liked that Nevzorov* gave a “truthful assessment of the real situation”, referring to the events around the maternity hospital in Mariupol.

  • On June 23, during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel, the journalist showed viewers two Ukrainian passports. He commented on his actions with the phrase “Yes, by the way, this is extremely important.” The second document probably belongs to his wife.
