The Basketball Federation of Ukraine called on FIBA to give Budivelnik a place in the group stage of the Champions League
Today, one of the flagships of Ukraine, capital Budivelnik, has the opportunity and is ready to take part in the main European tournament – the Champions League.

President of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine Mykhailo Brodsky appealed to the CEO of the FIBA Champions League Patrik Komminos with a request to give the most titled Ukrainian club Budivelnik a place in the group stage of the tournament in the 2022/23 season.
“The war continues in Ukraine and we do not know when it will end. But it is already clear to us that Ukraine will not be able to host a full-fledged championship this season. Fortunately, there are clubs that are ready to play and the importance of their presence in international competitions is invaluable. Ukrainian basketball must live,” Brodsky said.
The president of the federation noted that the leadership of the Kyiv club is ready to start preparing for the next season and start forming the team:
“Today, one of the flagships of Ukraine, capital Budivelnik, has the opportunity and is ready to take part in the main European tournament – the Champions League. Budivelnik’s management selects a hall in Europe and is ready to form a squad for participation in the Champions League at the appropriate level,” he stressed.
Considering the difficult situation in Ukraine related to the military invasion of Russia, the FBU asks FIBA to consider the possibility of giving the Kyiv club a place in the main part of the competition.
