Rampant again in Ukraine coronavirus. Several regions reported a sharp increase in the number of patients at once. In Bukovina, twice as many patients have already been found in a month than at the beginning of summer. And in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the sad statistics increased by 20%, and this is only in the last week. From a new wave of coronavirus that could cover Ukraine in the fall, only vaccination will save, doctors say.

This is in the new story. TSN.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, people are increasingly coming for a “booster” – the third vaccine against coronavirus. Only one of the vaccination centers in Dnipro receives at least 50 patients every day. The fewest people were in the first months after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.

However, subsequently the number of people wishing to be vaccinated increased. People began to travel to Europe in order not to have restrictions on movement, they were vaccinated against coronavirus in advance.

There are now almost 200 patients with coronavirus in the Dnipropetrovsk region, half of them are in hospitals. However, this is not what worries doctors. Doctors are worried about the rate of new infections. In the last week alone, the number of hospitalizations has increased by a quarter, and the number of new cases has increased by 20%. That is why people are once again being urged to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Tatyana Kvitnitskaya, Deputy Director of the Dnipro Health Department, said that there are enough coronavirus vaccines in the region. It is important that people get their vaccinations on time. So it will be possible to avoid a catastrophe, because the stratification of the war and the difficult situation with the coronavirus can significantly worsen the statistics, Kvitnitskaya noted.

The aggravation of the situation is observed in Bukovina. There the number of patients with coronavirus, compared with the beginning of summer.

“In June, 1 person died from COVID-19, and 4 people died in the last week of July. This option is characterized by a 50% faster spread, we understand that the number of patients will continue to grow in the future,” said the chief sanitary doctor of the Chernivtsi region Natalia Hopko.

Epidemiologists associate the outbreak of coronavirus in Bukovina with the circulation of three strains of Omicron, in particular the new one – BA.5. For the first time in Ukraine, it was discovered at the end of July in this region. This strain is spreading rapidly. That is why epidemiologists remind that the best way to avoid infection is vaccination.
