Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross still have no opportunity to get into the prisoner of war camp in Yelenovka, since Russia does not allow them access and refuses to give security guarantees. This is reported Voice of America.

“We have not yet been granted access to the prisoners of war affected by the attack, and we do not have security guarantees for this trip,” a spokeswoman for the ICRC headquarters in Geneva told reporters.
The Red Cross also states that Russia has not responded to the organization’s offer to provide assistance to the prisoners.
The obligation to provide the Red Cross with access to prisoners of war is explicitly stated in the 1949 Geneva Convention.
On July 31, Telegam of the Russian Ministry of Defense was informed that Russia “officially invited experts from the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross” to investigate the murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Yelenovka. On the same day the ICRC saidthat have not yet received permission to visit the site of the attack.
