Although the law allows in conditions of armed conflict to use all the possibilities for the evacuation of the population.
Despite all the possibilities of mandatory evacuation, no one will use coercion against the inhabitants of the Donetsk region.
This was announced by Vice Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk on the air of the informational telethon.
According to her, first of all, the state is concerned about the safety of children who are dependent on the decision to evacuate their parents.
“This is not a forced evacuation. We understand that we are a democratic country, despite all the possibilities of mandatory evacuation. The Code allows us to make it mandatory when there is a threat of armed conflict. And we have not just a threat, but an armed conflict continues. We have powers, but we still want it to be a voluntary decision of a person. We do not want to use coercion and we definitely will not do this,” Vereshchuk emphasized.
She explained that for those residents who, at their own risk, categorically refuse free state evacuation from the territory of the Donetsk region, a certain format of refusal is provided.
“This is a form of document that will mean that a person consciously decides to refuse free evacuation. He understands all the consequences and is personally responsible for what will happen to him. When in winter a person cannot use the evacuation train or cannot leave from the combat zone. A person must understand that he puts his signature and thereby recognizes his responsibility for what will happen to him,” Vereshchuk explained.
