Kassym-Jomart Tokayev referred to the Charter of the United Nations.
The territorial integrity of states must be inviolable, as spelled out in the Charter UN.
This explanation was given by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, regarding his statement on the non-recognition of the so-called “LPR” and “DPR”. The head of state spoke on this subject during the Qatar Economic Forum.
“Expressing our assessment of the territorial integrity of states, I, of course, had in mind the basic principle of the UN Charter. Therefore, from my point of view, territorial integrity should prevail,” Tokayev said.
In his statement, the President of Kazakhstan, in fact, supported the inviolability of the borders of Ukraine. He considers the territories of the pseudo-republics “LPR” and “DPR” part of our state.
Recall that on June 17 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Tokayev in the presence of Putin refused to acknowledge independence of the “LNR” and “DNR”. The President of Kazakhstan called them “quasi-state territories.”
According to the Russian oppositionist Gennady Gudkov, Tokayev hinted to Putinthat he lost. The head of Kazakhstan showed that he does not want to deal with the President of the Russian Federation, as this could lead to problems.
