The city is completely under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but as a result of constant shelling, there is not a single house that has not been damaged or destroyed.
AT Avdiivka there are still about 2,500 civilians who are permanently in hiding.
This was announced by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavel Kirilenko in on the air of the informational telethon June 23rd.
“People are constantly in shelters, because as a result of constant shelling, there is not a single house that would not be either destroyed or damaged. This is both the private sector and apartment buildings,” Kirilenko said.
According to him, mostly the residents of Avdiivka, who still remain in the city, hope that peace will come soon and they will be able to return to their homes.
“But these calculations, in this case, are extremely dangerous for their health and life. It would be much easier for us to do our work here on the spot if all the inhabitants were evacuated in order to concentrate all efforts solely on the enemy,” Kirilenko emphasized.
He added that people who remain in Avdiivka are provided with humanitarian aid.
“These are mostly humanitarian kits. There is no water and light. We restored electricity in the first weeks after a full-scale invasion, but when power lines were cut several kilometers from the power grid and high-voltage lines were simply knocked down, then in this case everything can be restored only after our victory,” Kirilenko said.
The head of the Donetsk OVA noted that since the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the enemy in the Donetsk direction – this is Maryivka, Krasnogorovka, Avdeevka, has not advanced.
“The small success that the enemy had in the direction of Avdiivka and Pokrovka was reversed and the enemy retreated, but that was earlier, a few weeks ago,” Kirilenko informed.
He added that Avdiivka, Marievka, Krasnogorovka were subjected to periodic shelling until February 24, because it was precisely the advanced, well-known Avdiivka “promka”.
“There were constant battles from it, it was extremely dangerous there, even before a full-scale invasion. Now the industrial complex and Avdiivka remain under the control of the Ukrainian armed forces,” Kirilenko emphasized.
The head of the Donetsk OVA noted that the military administration is working hard to evacuate even the small number of residents who still remain in Avdiivka.
“In order to reduce the number of civilians to” zero “and leave only those who protect the city. The city is under constant shelling, because the occupied territory of Donetsk is nearby and the enemy can hit Avdiivka every day. Including aircraft and all types of weapons, which the enemy is using without advancing,” Kirilenko said.
As UNIAN reported, on June 21 at night Russian invaders shelled a school in Avdiivka MLRS “Grad” shells with a magnesium charge. This is the third school completely destroyed by the Russians in Avdiyivka.
June 23 per day Russian invaders killed 6 civilians of Donetsk region: 2 in Avdiivka, 3 in Prishib, 1 in Chasovoy Yar. Another 5 people were injured.
