The head of the Kharkov regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, does not yet see the need and prerequisites for the evacuation of the civilian population from Kharkov.
He stated this during the All-Ukrainian telethon.
“We have already had shelling of the city of Kharkov for several days in a row. Regarding the evacuation: we now have no such need and prerequisites for this, since the military situation is difficult, but absolutely controlled. Our armed forces are holding their positions in the north, in the northeast direction, in the Izyum direction, therefore, it is not necessary to say that the city of Kharkov needs evacuation, it is completely premature and unreasonable. So, over the past week, the number of shelling has increased, but the situation is under control,” he said.
However, he added that it was dangerous to be on the streets of Kharkov, so he urged the townspeople to heed the air raid signals.
