More than 25,000 Ukrainians mistakenly received UAH 6,500 as part of the “Yepidtrymka” program. They were employees of budgetary institutions and were not entitled to payments.

About it in an interview UNIAN said Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko.

As the minister noted, the Ministry of Finance verified the register of aid recipients for the period from March 7 to March 31, 2022, which contains information about almost 4.8 million Ukrainians.

“25,524 people were identified who are employees of budgetary institutions and were not entitled to receive appropriate assistance,” he said.

UAH 166 million in assistance was erroneously paid. As of July 11, about 12 million hryvnias have been returned. Of these, almost UAH 9 million were returned by individuals as a result of the measures taken, and another UAH 3 million were returned by banks in the form of unused assistance.

On March 6, Prime Minister Denys Shmigal announced the possibility for Ukrainians who lost their jobs due to the war to receive assistance from the state in the amount of UAH 6.5 thousand through the updated program “Jepidtrymka”.

Initially, UAH 25 billion was allocated to finance the program.

However, on May 31, the Verkhovna Rada adopted changes to the state budget, increasing spending by UAH 287 billion through additional external borrowing, including an increase in spending on providing assistance under the program “Epidtrimka” by UAH 5.8 billion to more than UAH 30 billion.
