Map of hostilities as of August 2

The British Ministry of Defense has published an up-to-date map of hostilities in Ukraine as of Tuesday, August 2.

“The illegal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine continues,” the Ministry of Defense notes in Twitter.

Near Kramatorsk, the invaders shelled from tanks and artillery the areas of Serebryanka, Seversk, Zvanovka and Donetsk. Air strikes were carried out near Serebryanka. Conducted assault operations not far from Ivano-Daryevka, they were not successful, they retreated.

The enemy concentrated his efforts on conducting an offensive in the Bakhmut and Avdeev directions in the Donetsk region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed the assault in the areas of Yakovlevka, Vershina, Kodema and Travnevoy. Near Bakhmut and Zaytsevo, fighting continues.

The positions of Russian troops in the direction of Slavyansk are very weakened due to the fact that the Russian Federation transfers its forces to strengthen the grouping in the south. US Institute for the Study of War analysts considerthat because of this, the defenders can launch a counteroffensive in the north, namely in the Izyum direction.
