“I signed a submission for the appointment of Ms. Venediktova as ambassador to Switzerland,” Kuleba said.

He also noted that the idea to appoint Venediktova as an ambassador was born “in a circle of several people – they sat, discussed, and such an option was found.”

“Her work with international partners in recent months has shown that she can prove herself on the international track,” the Foreign Minister said.

Irina Venediktova:

Venediktova was appointed Prosecutor General on March 17, 2020.

Prior to her appointment, she was acting head of the State Bureau of Investigation, before that she was a people’s deputy from the Servant of the People.

July 19, 2022 Rada fired Venediktova from the post of Attorney General.

Zelensky explained this decision the fact that due to the large number of traitors among the employees of the prosecutor’s office and the SBU, who remained in the occupied territory and work for Russia, there were questions to the chairman of the SBU and the prosecutor general.

On the same day, July 19, 2022, Zelensky signed decree on the dismissal of Venediktova.
