Kosovo conflict – Serb protesters likely fired shots at Kosovo police

Police representatives Kosovo claim that Kosovo Serbs, who oppose the replacement of Serbian documents with temporary ones on the model of a partially recognized state, carried out a number of attacks from firearms, including those directed towards law enforcement officers. This is stated in the message of the department in Facebook.

“The Kosovo police have official information that shots were heard in some places, some of which were directed towards police units, but, fortunately, no one was injured. Citizens also provided information on cases of ill-treatment of Albanian citizens, which resulted in their physical injuries and material damage to their vehicles.”the publication says.

The Kosovo police claim that the perpetrators of the above actions are likely associated with organizations and social movements blocking the passage of vehicles in Zubin Stream near Varag and in Rudar.

Tensions between Kosovo and Serbia resumed amid the entry into force of a new order, according to which Kosovo Serbs with Serbia-issued license plates on cars must re-register them for Kosovo (RKS) plates. Also, citizens of Serbia on the territory of a partially recognized state will be issued temporary documents replacing Serbian ones.
