Klitschko received the title of honorary citizen of Warsaw – UNIAN

Vitali Klitschko received the title of honorary citizen of Warsaw.

He stated that he considers this a recognition of the heroism of all Kyivans and the courage of the Ukrainian people, informs KSCA website.

“I am sincerely grateful to the authorities and the people of Warsaw for the title of honorary citizen of the Polish capital. The cities with which Kyiv shares many years of friendship and cooperation. This is a great honor for me and recognition of the heroism of all Kyivans, the courage of the Ukrainian people who resist the invasion of Russian barbarians,” Vitaliy said. Klitschko in a video message to Polish colleagues and friends.

He noted that Ukrainians today are defending not only their independence and European choice, but also democracy, stability and security of the whole of Europe.

“We must defeat Putin’s barbarians who are trying to destroy the Ukrainian state and commit genocide of the Ukrainian people. Any “freeze” of the conflict, any respite for the army of murderers will mean that they will come again! And the appetites of the evil empire will not be limited only to Ukraine. In the world, to “Unfortunately, not everyone understands this. But the Poles understand it very well. Today, Poland plays a leading role in the efforts of the democratic world in support of Ukraine. We are very grateful to you for your concern and responsiveness! We appreciate it and will not forget!” Vitali Klitschko emphasized.

The ceremony took place at the solemn meeting of the Warsaw City Council, which takes place annually on July 31, the day of the Warsaw Uprising. On behalf of Vitali Klitschko, his brother Wladimir Klitschko received the distinction.

Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski stressed that Poland would continue to help Ukraine. And both countries will remain free and independent states.
