Klimkin described the danger from

Ukraine from the unrecognized Transnistria not a big war can threaten, but only provocations, insidious blows or a terrorist attack.

This opinion was voiced TSN.ua ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs, diplomat Pavel Klimkin.

He predicted that part of the military from Transnistria would go to war in Ukraine if they were “forced” by the Russian FSB.

“Someone will flee, someone will be a deserter, someone will try to fight. After all, this is the Soviet Union. And in the USSR there will always be those who will go to war. So-called volunteer formations will appear on the territory of Transnistria. But to fight really with us, with our Armed Forces of Ukraine – it’s not even funny. They can make some kind of provocation, inflict an insidious blow, create a terrorist attack. So they must be monitored,” he warned.

Speaking about the potential of the Moldovan army, Klimkin noted that the republic has insignificant armed forces, and its citizens do not want to fight. However, he added, the security of Ukraine also depends on the security of Moldova.

“There is a special force in Transnistria, which is controlled by the FSB. In Moldova, no one wants to fight. However, if you need to defend the country, you have to – a very simple story. Only now, President Maia Sandu is taking consistent steps – he is fighting hard against Russian influence.” The “Russian world” needs to be cleaned up in Moldova as well. This is our key safety priority. There is no security in Moldova, and there is no security in Ukraine,” the ex-minister believes.

Earlier it became known that Moldova will turn to a NATO member for help in case of Russian aggression. According to the President of the Republic, Maia Sandu, the corresponding appeal will be sent to neighboring Romania.
