About 300 thousand square kilometers of Ukraine are covered with explosive objects.
It will take 10 years for sappers to clear mines in Ukrainian lands.
This is reported by the State Emergency Service.
“Up to 10 years. These are optimistic estimates, because we still do not know what is happening in the territories where active hostilities are taking place. And what we will see when we free them from the occupiers,” said Alexander Khorunzhiy, a spokesman for the State Emergency Service.
The representative of the department added that the units of the State Emergency Service are still working on clearing the territories after the First and Second World Wars. The cornet noted that about 300 thousand square kilometers of Ukraine are covered with explosive objects.
As of this moment, more than 62 thousand hectares of territory have been cleared. More than 145,000 explosive items have been neutralized, of which about 2,000 are aerial bombs.
