In what regions of the Russian Federation are new volunteer battalions formed for the war in Ukraine

Novosibirsk, Kurgan, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions form new volunteer battalions to the war in Ukraine.

This is stated in report American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The Novosibirsk region is recruiting men aged 18 to 50 for an unnamed volunteer battalion and is offering 300,000 rubles (about $4,900) for enrollment.

The head of the Kurgan regional Cossack organization, Vladimir Yarushnikov, said that local authorities are discussing the process of forming and recruiting an unnamed battalion.

The administration of Ulyanovsk also announced the formation of two reserve volunteer battalions “Sviyaga” and “Simbirsk” of 200 people each.

The Saratov local publication “Version Saratov” reported that the administration of Saratov announced the recruitment of two unnamed volunteer battalions based on the “order of the Russian Defense Ministry.”

War in Ukraine: current data

Russian troops focused on the capture of Donbass. Enemy as a result of assaults has partial success in the Bakhmut and Avdeevsky directions.

At the same time, attempts to advance the enemy in the directions of Rota – Vershina, Vladimirovka – Yakovlevka, Klinovo – Zaitsevoe and Pokrovskoye – Bakhmut were successfully repelled. The invaders retreated with losses.

Also, the RF Armed Forces carried out assault operations in the direction of Mineralnoe – Avdeevka, they were not successful, they retreated.

Russian offensives on the Kramatorsk and Kharkiv directions successfully repulsed.

As a result of accurate missile strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the warehouses of the occupiers in the Kherson region, Russia began to transfer additional units to the south and is in a defensive position.

According to the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko, Russia could change the plan of attack on Ukrainetrying to capture the southern regions.
