As a result of the military conflict in Ukraine, more than three hundred thousand refugees ended up in the Czech Republic. One of the main conditions for rapid acclimatization is not only the availability of housing and livelihoods, but also the study of the Czech language. This is especially important for children who have to go to school in a new place in September. With the support of the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic, GoStudy organizes free intensive Czech language courses for students from Ukraine. We explain why you should take advantage of this opportunity.

What does the course look like?

Since Czech, like Ukrainian, is part of the group of Slavic languages, then, subject to regular classes, a child will be able to master the basics in just a month. The training mode is intensive: four lessons a day, five days a week.

The main objective of the course is to prepare the student for daily communication at school with classmates and teachers. Classes include integration tasks, during which teachers focus on expanding vocabulary. At the same time, the guys do not have to cram for hours: mastering the material occurs by playing scenes from life, so that the vocabulary will be “absorbed” in a natural way.

Will the course be effective?

All lessons will be held in person at the training centers in Prague and Brno. The quality of education is guaranteed by two factors.

Firstly, the guys will study in small groups of no more than ten people, respectively, teachers will be able to answer all questions and devote time to each student.

Secondly, GoStudy professors have many years of teaching experience and are well acquainted with Czech realities. This means that the children will learn not only “book” but also colloquial Czech, they will learn the most commonly used phrases in everyday life, which are sometimes not in textbooks. Classes will help you better understand the mentality and culture of the country in which you have to live and study.

What does the course give?

The intensive free course includes 80 lessons and can be taken in June, July or August 2022. Each student who attends at least 75% of the classes and passes the four-part final test (reading, listening, writing and speaking) will receive a certificate. This document will facilitate the identification of a student in a Czech school and will simplify the start of education.

Who can enroll in the course?

Any student between the ages of 14 and 18 who has been granted temporary protection in the Czech Republic due to the military conflict in Ukraine can register for the course.

Why should you take this course?

GoStudy is a language school with the right to conduct a state exam, which has been specializing in teaching Czech to foreigners for more than 20 years. 90% of school graduates not only successfully pass the B2 certificate exam, but also enter the best universities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

From the very beginning of the military conflict in Ukraine, GoStudy decided to help Ukrainians acclimatize in the Czech Republic and opened free language courses. Education is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic, which is an indicator of its quality and effectiveness.

How to enroll in a course?

The student must choose whether he wants to study in Prague or Brno and fill out a simple registration form. After that, he needs to come to the school office. He will be assigned to the study group and will receive an email with detailed information about the course and required documents. The date, time and place of the start of classes will also be indicated there. The number of places on the course is limited. Register for a course.
