Thousands of residents of Tbilisi took to the streets in support of European integration Georgia. The organizers of the action thus wanted to show the importance of the European future.

The protests were attended by representatives of various spheres, including political forces, but without party symbols.
At the same time, posters in support of Mikheil Saakashvili were seen. In addition, students brought posters with the inscriptions: “We demand de-oligarchic”, “The West must impose sanctions on Ivanishvili and members of the Georgian government”, “For our future”, “Young power is here” and others.
As UNIAN previously reported, on February 28, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed an application for Ukraine’s membership in the European Union. After that, similar applications were submitted by Georgia and Moldova.
June 8 The European Parliament supported the resolution with the recommendation of the EU to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership.
According to Radio Liberty journalist Rikard Jozwiak, probably the European Commission will recommend granting candidate status for EU membership for Ukraine and Moldova, but with conditions. However, questions remain about Georgia.
In turn, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated that if someone is entitled to EU membership, then Georgiaand then Ukraine and Moldova.
On 17 June it became known that the European Commission recommended to the European Council grant candidate status to Moldovabut Georgia still has to fulfill a number of requirements.
