For residents of the Donetsk region, the state will provide free evacuation and payments

For evacuated residents of Donetsk region the state provides free evacuation and additional payments.

This was announced by Vice Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk on the air of the informational telethon.

She noted that in relation to the Donetsk region, a decision was indeed made on the mandatory evacuation of residents, which consists in the fact that the state provides free logistics, accommodation and guarantees all types of payments.

“We know where we should bring people, where they will be placed, where they will spend the winter, where their children will be. And most importantly, what people will live for,” Vereshchuk emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that in addition to payments guaranteed by the state, additional assistance is provided.

“For example, a one-time payment that will be provided immediately upon arrival – in cash, to each person who will arrive at the evacuation sites. Also UNICEF international assistance if there are children. The UN, the Red Cross and other organizations that are also already coordinated by us and they are waiting for such people,” Vereshchuk stressed.

She stressed that the residents of Donbass need to evacuate now during the warm season and not wait for autumn.

“Do not wait until it will be much more difficult to do this later due to the hostilities. And due to the fact that we really will not be able to give heat to people to heat their homes,” Vereshchuk explained.

She noted that more than 200 thousand people need to be evacuated from the Donetsk region, and many thousands of children are among them.

“We understand that there are people with limited mobility, elderly people, women with small children, often families with many children. There are trains and transport for such people. We are ready to help them get to the platform and help them get from the platform. All these processes are thought out” – said Vereshchuk.

She added that residents evacuated from the Donetsk region will be resettled in the central and western regions of Ukraine.

“There are already their compatriots there. Today, for example, Poltava and Poltava region are 200,000 displaced people. Sociology shows that 94% of displaced Ukrainians and Ukrainian women want to stay there forever,” Vereshchuk said.

As UNIAN reported, on July 29, the Cabinet of Ministers created the Headquarters for the evacuation of residents Donetsk region. The state will introduce mandatory evacuation of the population from the non-occupied areas of the Donetsk region before the start of the heating season

On July 31, Vereshchuk told the algorithm of actions for those who have to evacuate from the Donetsk region and said that more than 50 thousand children and more than 200 thousand adults should leave.
