Duda said that today Ukraine is defending Poland and all of Europe, including Germany, and if the “heroic resistance of Ukraine” fails to resist Putin’s imperial plans, then Poland and the Baltic countries will be threatened by further expansion of Russia’s sphere of influence in central Europe.
“By the way, the Russian ideas that we are talking about are not only the ideas of Vladimir Putin. They permeate most of Russian society, the journalists there (Russian propagandists – ed.) Talk about Russia, stretching to the Polish city of Kalisz. These are Great Russian ideas about subjugation of other peoples,” the Polish president said.
He added that today, thanks to Ukraine, this danger is contained, but he assumes that it will become real in the future.
- Earlier, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that Poland needs a strong army, for the Kremlin to refrain from attacking on it, since Russia attacks only those whom it considers weak.
