The court seized four ships in absentia.
The border guards exposed four vessels that, under the flag of the Russian Federation and Syria, illegally exported stolen Ukrainian grain from the occupied Crimea.
This was reported to UNIAN by the press service of the Odessa Marine Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
“The Operations and Investigation Department of the Odessa Marine Guard Detachment received information regarding the use of the vessels Matros Koshka, Matros Pozinich and Mikhail Nenashev under the flag of the Russian Federation, as well as Finikia under the flag of Syria, for transporting stolen Ukrainian grain through the closed ports of Crimea” , the message says.
In the actions of the Russian occupation authorities and their accomplices, signs of crimes under Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war), as well as Art. 332-1 (violation of the procedure for entering the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and leaving it) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the information provided by the operatives of the State Border Service, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office launched criminal proceedings.
As part of the investigation, evidence of criminal activity was obtained, which was later transferred to the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
“After examining the materials collected during the investigation, the Ukrainian court seized these vessels in absentia,” the press service added.
According to media reports, in Sevastopol Ukrainian grain is loaded onto ships every day.
