From an economic point of view, Ukraine did not suffer any losses, since the gas that was produced at the “Boyko towers” went to the needs of the occupied Crimea.
On the 117th day of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed that they would no longer be allowed to steal our gas. We are talking about a strike on the so-called “Boyko towers” – the drilling platforms of Chernomorneftegaz, stolen by the Russians in 2014.
This is stated in the plot of the FreeDom project. Then, in 2014, Russian special forces simply landed on platforms from the air. After that, the object looked more like a military one than an energy one. And those very unfortunate victims of the strike are the militants who held the captured towers in Ukrainian waters for 8 years.
“The attack on the towers is not the revenge of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but a clear strategic plan to liberate the Black Sea and unblock Ukrainian ports,” the story says.
Snake Island, located near the towers, to which a lot of equipment and air defense was brought for a couple of weeks, was fired on almost simultaneously with the drilling platforms.
“There will finally be such a piece of land and a lot of Russian broken equipment and killed Russians. And the Boyko towers were also destroyed, the Moskva and the Vasily Bekh tugboat were sunk. In fact, Ukraine declared that it was impossible for Russian ships to enter this area. The Russian military cannot enter there, because they will be destroyed,” military expert Mikhail Samus.
From an economic point of view, Ukraine did not suffer any losses, since the gas that was produced at the “Boyko towers” went to the needs of the occupied Crimea. During the annexation, the Russians extracted, or rather stole, about 12.5 billion cubic meters of gas here.
The destruction of drilling platforms is a very important move from the point of view of maritime security, since Ukraine has shown that it can “clean up” the sea by military means.
Earlier it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit drilling rigs “Chernomorneftegaz”which are also called “Boyko’s towers”.
Thereafter in Russia threatened with retaliatory strikes against “decision-making centers” in Kyiv.
