Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said: The US is ready to eliminate any leadersif they pose a threat to the country. This is confirmed by the assassination of the leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist group Ayman al-Zawahiri.

During the briefing at the White House, Kirby noted that US President Joe Biden could repeat such an operation.

“This strike showed how serious our capabilities are, how seriously we are ready to protect our interests. If we again notice a threat to America from them or any terrorist group, the president reserves the right to take such measures again,” Kirby said.

Recall that President Joe Biden confirmed on July 2 that The United States killed al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. It happened on July 30-31. It is noted that it was he who helped coordinate the attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001.
