According to official information, 75 people are now in captivity of the invaders.
“You know that each time we managed to pull out one or two people from Zmeiny Island (during the exchange – UNIAN). Now this question is not for me, but for the headquarters coordinator Mr. Budanov (Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine – UNIAN )”, – said Vereshchuk.
Meanwhile, relatives of the island’s defenders report 80 prisoners. Vereshchuk advised them to contact her ministry to verify this information.
She also noted that the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories is not currently engaged in exchange, but owns such a register.
Earlier, Vereshchuk said that Russia keeps in prison 1.5 thousand civilian Ukrainians.

On February 25, the Ukrainian side negotiated the evacuation of the bodies, and on the same day the Sapphire ship was sent to the island. On February 27, a group of Russian Navy ships captured it.
On February 28, the General Staff announced that the Ukrainian infantrymen and border guards, who were taken prisoner by the Russian invaders on Zmeiny Island, were alive.
All 19 crew members of the Sapphire rescue ship were released from Russian captivity on March 25.
