400,000 Ukrainians from occupied territories “passed” through Zaporozhye – UNIAN

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, about 400 thousand Ukrainians have passed through Zaporozhye, who left the occupied territories.

This was told by the chairman of the Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Starukh in an interview”Ukrinform”.

“About 400,000 people passed through the city. 106,000 are registered as internally displaced persons,” Starukh said.

According to him, right now there are almost 90 thousand internally displaced persons in the city of Zaporozhye.

“Some of them went further. Some remained – 16,000 residents of the Donetsk region, including about 7,000 residents of Mariupol. Many people remained from the Pologovsky district, from Gulyaipol. Some rent housing, some live with relatives, friends, acquaintances. In the villages about 10,000 people live in regional communal institutions – almost 2,000, in city communal institutions – somewhere around one thousand.

The head of the OVA added that many people are now arriving from the occupied Kherson region. A separate hub will be created for them.

As UNIAN reported, on July 30, President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the Ukrainianswho are still in the Donbas to be evacuated.
